Back from vacation
August 8, 2007
Ok, i'm a little late on posting this..........it took a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things!
To sum it all up: 10 days, 7 states, 3300 miles, hail storm, and attacked by birds! Woohoo what a blast! Went to see Mt Rushmore. That was amazing! Then on to the Crazy Horse Memorial. That was even better. Though not yet finished, the lazer light show on the side of the mountain was spectacular! It was called "legends in light" I bought the DVD so I can see it over and over again.
Took an unplanned side trip to Wyoming........was so close to Devil's tower (the mountain in "Close Encounters") that I just had to do it! That was something to see! Saw some great landscapes and sites in South Dakota, Iowa, and Kansas.
Drove through the sand hills of Nebraska..........that's where the birds attacked the car.........crazy birds didn't know how to fly: Car = 2, Birds = 0. Driving through the plains of South Dakota.............hail the size of a quarter struck quick and hard. Thought it was gonna break the glass......that was very scary..........had a real deep and serious conversation with God at that moment! The...

Wolf Clan Pow Wow 2007
May 15, 2007
WOW what a day it was! Several members of the Faraway Cherokee, myself included, attended the Cherokee Wolf Clan's Spring Pow Wow this past Saturday (5-12-07). It was a nice day, just hot. The ground was still damp from a storm the day before. We danced, ate Fry bread and laughed. A day can't get much better than that. Oh wait.....................maybe it can.......Larry Sellers, who played "cloud dancing" on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman was there. Yes, I'd have to say................it WAS a geat day indeed!

Got a New Hobby
April 20, 2007
I started hiking recently with Tennessee Trails Association. I've had a great time and can't wait until the next one. Here are some thoughts from my first three hikes:
Got a new hobby.... hiking. Joined the Tennessee Trails Association and went on my first hike (02-24-07). Well, the official hike was cancelled due to the weather, but I had driven an hour, so when several people, who had driven a long distance also decided to go on a non-official hike, I tagged along. Yes it rained, but a little water never hurt anyone. I had such a great time, but learned real quick how out of shape I am. I'll pay for it in the morning.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Ok.... I really love my new hobby!! I went on my second hike this morning (3/24/07) at Shelby Farms. There were about 15-20 people there. It's great making new friends. The hike was about 3-4 easy miles.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Just went on my third hike (03-31-07)........... It was at Shelby Forest but a different trail than the first. I never knew there was so much color in the woods in spring. There were about 10 of us this hike.

Wild Horse Native Gathering
April 18, 2007
The First Annual Wild Horse Native Gathering was held April 13-15, 2007 in Spring Hill, TN. I was able to attend on the 14th and WOW, it was awesome. The drive there through Maury County was a panoramic view on all sides of the rode. A real feast for the eyes! The event was small, as it was the first. I look forward to the next event and I bet it will grow and grow and grow.
I got a bit adventurous and actually ate a buffalo burger. It tasted just like a regular hamburger. Those of you who know me, know what a picky eater I am, so that was pretty brave of me.............don't ya think? ~Angel
